Summary of Position

As the Director of Middle Eastern Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for the Middle Eastern region focusing on Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. The role will involve building and maintaining relationships with key guests/stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities, and overseeing the entire sales process from prospecting to closing deals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

  • To develop a close and productive working relationship with key travel partners, Middle Eastern families & high net worth individuals focusing on booking high-end suite and rooms business from the middle east.
  • To handle the travel trade and corporate accounts within the Gulf Co-operative Council (GCC) in conjunction with the Head of Middle East Sales for the Maybourne
  • To obtain and maintain detailed product knowledge of all accommodation, conference and banqueting facilities (room sizes, configurations, technology, room hire charges, range of F&B spends etc), spas, food and beverage outlets, and any other guest facilities within the group.
  • To conduct sales trips within the Middle East region in conjunction with the Head of Middle East Sales using all necessary tools and resources to visit the potential sales leads, visiting Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.
  • To conduct telesales activity with identified business sources, assess potential and arrange sales appointments.
  • To review room nights and revenue from your territories and make recommendations to increase business.
  • To conduct rate negotiations with clients within agreed parameters and discussing rate requests with Revenue Management team, where necessary.
  • To facilitate the smooth handover of booked business to the operational teams concerned for co-ordination of the event or reservation and to assist in allocating correct suites and rooms for the specific business.
  • To arrange familiarization trips and show rounds from your agreed territories and arrange client evening entertainment, introducing Operational Manager and General Manager where appropriate.
  • To conduct post event telephone or personal visits follow-up to clients, ascertaining satisfaction and effectively dealing with any issues arising.
  • To conduct sales presentations and to represent the Group at appropriate exhibitions and shows if required.
  • To provide client feedback/suggestions to operational management on the delivery of our products and services.
  • To travel to London for meetings when required.
  • Any information regarding interna; Maybourne Hotel Group clients must remain confidential, which includes their booking patterns and spends. You must not disclose such information (during employment and thereafter), without the express authorization of the Group.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the Middle Eastern Market
  • In-depth knowledge of the Middle Eastern business culture, market dynamics, and industry trends
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Delphi.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
  • Creates an atmosphere in which timely information flows smoothly throughout the department; possesses exceptional communications skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into what needs to be done; ensures that all work is completed effectively; monitors the progress of work against schedules and budgets; maintains high performance standards.
  • Understands our competition and knows how to sell against them.
  • Possession of in-depth understanding of global travel in addition to a network of contacts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in dynamic and fast-changing environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the Middle Eastern region as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Possible prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
